Getting back on track

Good evening bloggers...

The day after the holiday, in this case Easter 2012 was surprisingly easy getting back on track with my healthy eating regiment.

The last three or four days I sort of broke down and ate what I used to eat before I became so healthy in my eating style and regiment.

I'm glad that the holiday is over and I can get back to my focus on total fruit, fresh vegetables a few carbs and little protein again.

I have figured out that holidays and vacations are going to take me back to the way I once ate and I'm just gonna have to learn to deal with it and get back on track after the fact.

I try and eat 5 times a day. I also try and eat as much live food as possible through out the day. I make it most days but one or two days every once in a while I may not.

For my peticular eating regiment I have stopped drinking coffee and have started drinking hot herbal tea. I have learned that coffee in general may not nesecessarily be bad for you, one thing is certain: coffee is usually one of the most heavily sprayed crops, and is often contaminated with pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides.

It is also a good idea to avoid putting milk and sugar in your coffee. The milk and sugar in your coffee are in fact much worse for you than the coffee itself. Finally, use only non-bleached filters. White coffee filters, which most coffee drinkers use, are bleached with chlorine and some of this chlorine will end up in your coffee during the brewing process. So, for all of you coffee drinkers start drinking organic coffee and only use non bleached coffee filters.

I have learned that having a large fruit bowl or 6-8oz total green fruit smoothie is best in the mornings for breakfast. Why you ask?? Well, fruit passes through the body the fastest and when one is trying to eat the healthiest and either lose weight or try to maintain their weight one wants to start with foods that will pass through the body the quickest first and that would be fruit.

Next, a person's blood sugar needs to be leveled out to maintain the body's metabalism and to level out one's blood sugar, they need to eata mid morning and a mid afternoon snack.

For a mid morning snack I like to eat 15-20 almonds but a small protein bar, handful of sunflower seeds or a small rice cake with a bit of homemade nut butter on it would be good too.

For lunch I like to eat my homemade and largest green leafy vegetable salad I can make and I make my own homemade ginger or garlic vingerette in the bottom of the bowl before I start adding a boat load of mixed chopped fresh vegetables and last mix spring greens with baby spinch and toss the salad from the bottom upwards. Sometimes I change it up and I make a homemade soup in the blender and have that for lunch.

For my afternoon snack I like to make a variety of fruit smoothies and I only drink about 6-8 oz once again. Sometimes I'll have the 15-20 almonds, or a homemade nut bar or popcorn just to change it up a bit.

For dinner, I'll have a small bit of protein of chicken, fish, shrimp or turkey, a bit of complex carb like bown rice or a sweet potato and a cup full of mixed and very lightly steamed vegetables.

That's pretty much my day of eating, every day.

I know this was a long post and I hope I haven't bored you to death but I wanted to share with you my healthy eating regiment.

Got questions?? Don't hesitate to ask, I'm around.

God Bless!!
